The survey of gravestones inside Itteringham Church and in the Churchyard covers all the
legible grave markers and in many cases has involved lengthy scrutiny of older stones to make
out the text. Where there are gaps in what is decipherable, they are noted. We think it unlikely anyone would glean more information from looking at the stones themselves. Please see our selection of photos of the churchyard and selected stones. For some stones we have added information from the parish registers, most of which are lodged with the Norfolk Record Office. Clearly there are many more burials than there are surviving gravestones. For ease of surveying we divided the stones into 9 sections, which are used in the numbering system below. Please see the plan for details but the 9 sections are as follows: |
